Biggest Hit: "Hairspray," $118.8 million (Live Action)
Latest Miss: "Parkland," $653,651
What's next: "That Awkward Moment," "Neighbors"
Why they are on the hot seat: It's been a tough few years for Efron. He's taken critical chances with the underrated "The Paperboy," "At Any Price" and the disastrous "Parkland," but they didn't help his box office star power (and might not have been the best choices). As a solo act, Efron has two success stories, "17 Again" (four years ago) and "The Lucky One." Neither movie made more than $64 million, however. That proves Efron's appeal, at this point, is capped. "That Awkward Moment" won't change things, but he's got a chance with the Seth Rogen comedy "Neighbors." That "looks" like a hit and could be exactly what Efron needs as he drifts further and further away from being a Disney teenage dream.
