Best Post-'SNL' Moments: "Aladdin," various standup appearances, Comedy Central roasts
Gottfried once reflected on little screentime he earned during his one-season stint on "SNL" (the horrendous '80-'81 season, of course). At his lowest point, he was forced to play a corpse in a sketch about a guy who played inappropriate funeral music. Grim, indeed. Fortunately, that unmistakable voice was perfect for the role of the scheming bird Iago in "Aladdin" and, for awhile, those Aflac commercials too.
