8. "Little Ashes"
Why: Before Robert Pattinson ever landed his breakout role in "Twilight," he shot a gay-themed indie about the relationship between iconic Spaniards Salvador Dali (Pattinson) and Luis Bunuel (Matthew McNulty). Needless to say, both actors and director Paul Morrison are in way over their heads with this material. Pattinson gives it his all, but he doesn't have the experience or skill to portray Dali as anything but a caricature (or is he just playing Johnny Depp?). Moreover, Philippa Goslett's screenplay is so disjointed you never really understand why Dali makes the decisions that force the dramatic conflict in the film to begin with. There is an intriguing story about these men out there somewhere, but its not in this movie.
Silver Lining: With the success of "Twilight," Pattinson won't be making any low-budget films with second rate directors again anytime soon.
