Some new ideas for the show in the wake of Seth Meyers' departure
Forgo having a host at least once a year
“SNL” is built on as much tradition as innovation. But having a host for host’s sake seems like one of the traditions that can be occasionally omitted. The host is an important part of the show, no doubt. But the lack of one, once a year, could create a buzzworthy event in and of itself. Moreover, it would draw attention to the show’s ensemble and put them on full display without any external forces drawing attention away from them. We know the cast could handle this. But could NBC? It would be fascinating to find out.
