Marlon Brandon as Dr. Moreau ("The Island of Dr. Moreau")
Brilliant scientific breakthrough: The ability to mutate animals into obedient human beings. Muahahahaha.
Why we're unconvinced: Marlon Brando was 72 when the film was shot, but such a big star that he got away with essentially sabotaging the shoot with some questionable character choices. Among other things, he decided to prove his wackiness by wearing an ice bucket as a hat and demanded that a midget be cast as his assistant (the inspiration for Mini Me!) and appear in every single one of his scenes.
