10 unanswered questions from Disney and Marvel's D23 preview

'Doctor Strange,' 'Haunted Mansion,' 'Lone Ranger' and more

If 'Lone Ranger' is dead, does 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' move to Christmas 2012?

Likely only on the minds of distribution execs at Disney's competitors, there is still questions about what the studio does with the current Dec. 12, 2012 release date it has booked for "The Lone Ranger" if the movie is permanently shut down?  Would Disney move Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" from its March 8, 2013 date to a Christmas debut just a little under two months earlier?  Considering "Oz" began shooting on July 21 of this year it sounds like there is more than enough time to change the date.  Studio chairman Rich Ross was mum on the subject, but it was telling that an in-depth behind-the-scenes piece on "Oz's" first few days of shooting was shown to the audience.
