10 unanswered questions from Disney and Marvel's D23 preview

'Doctor Strange,' 'Haunted Mansion,' 'Lone Ranger' and more

Is Guillermo del Toro's "Haunted Mansion" reboot going to happen this century?

Guillermo del Toro loves to put his fingers in lots of different projects.  As many del Toro fans know, however, that doesn't mean all those movies are going to get made.  Del Toro is currently hard at work on "Pacific Rim," but he's seen his potential directing gigs on "The Hobbit" and "Mountains of Madness" all disappear for a number of different issues.  Del Toro and Disney made a big splash at Comic-Con 2010 announcing a new "Haunted Mansion" film that it hopes will allow moviegoers to wipe away painful memories of the 2003 "Haunted Mansion" with Eddie Murphy.  Del Toro has gone on record during press for "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" that they are on a second revision of the screenplay and actively in pre-production on set designs, etc.  And yet, there was absolutely no mention of "Mansion" or a possible release date during the D23 presentation.
