Chris Weitz says 'New Moon' for the fans
"New Moon" director Chris Weitz took some time to chat with EW.com after the biggest opening of his career. Some highlights...
- He wasn't surprised by the negative reviews, but wished cinematographer Javier Aguirresarobe had gotten more credit for his "beautiful" work.
- Notes that unlike "New Moon," his former novel adaptation, "The Golden Compass," found both he and the studio at the time (New Line) on completey different pages (well worth the read just for this bit).
- One of the reasons he came on board was because he thought there was something special with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner on screen together.
- His lowest point shooting the movie was "struggling" to get certain shots at 5 AM in a very cold British Columbia forest.
