From lyrical, Terrence Malick-esque shots of backyard clotheslines and soaring birds to somber voiceovers from Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner (depending on which version you're watching), for the majority of the teaser's running time it feels like the trailer for some upcoming awards-baity drama. While it's not fair to expect wall-to-wall action nearly a year out from the film's release, for god's sake would it have killed them to include...I don't know, a nail-biting helicopter rescue or something? (see: left) Seriously, enough with the moping.
