10 things we wish we'd seen in the 'Man of Steel' teaser

While we do get an admittedly nifty shot of Superman shooting through the Earth's atmosphere at teaser's end, whenever we see Cavill up close he's either fishing, hitchhiking or petting dogs in boatyards as a scruffy Clark Kent. Good lord, is this the new Todd Field movie or "Man of Steel"? Including even a single clear shot of the actor in the new Superman costume would've been a nice little "gimme" for fans, but alas.

July 25, 2012 at 5:15AM EST Reply to Commentyeah I feel your pain, I was really hoping for an hd release of the comic con footage they showed which had lots of action, zod, closeup, fortress, daily planet. You can still find it though if you look around, I encourage it!

July 25, 2012 at 8:43PM EST Reply to CommentCouldn't agree with #10 more. After the dark, haunting, and nihilistic 'Dark Knight Trilogy', the contrast with Superman should be pointedly extreme. Instead, we get a trailer that's downbeat and dour. Yes, treat Clark's story with reverence and emotion, but don't forget the fun and to inspire. That's the essence of the character, no matter how relatable you want to make him.
