10 things we learned from the 'Hobbit' trailer
The return of Gollum, Martin Freeman as Bilbo and...singing dwarves?
Martin Freeman (looks like) he delivers as a young Bilbo Baggins
At the risk of sounding mean, Freeman really does have that whole "Hobbit" look down. Extra points for actually being convincing as a young Ian Holm.

Crow3711 yea I was gonna say what about that picture is definitively Moria? Nothing. It could be anywhere. It's just a grey wall and some steps.
December 21, 2011 at 10:04AM ESTBen Wyatt at any rate, Gandalf has been to Moria before LOTR anyway; he went there in search of Thror's ring or map or something before the events of The Hobbit.

Mandrake1979 I fricking hate these articles now. whoever writes them does not have the guts to put their name to them. They have never made me smile let alone laugh, the only emotion that I get from reading these articles is just hate.

December 21, 2011 at 11:27PM EST Reply to CommentAs others have said, there is no reason to assume that that is Moria, as if there aren't a buttload of other underground, stone passageways in Middle Earth including a number that Gandalf could legitimately be traversing within the story of The Hobbit.
Also, if we're going to get nitpicky, those are trolls, not giants.

But I thought the trailer was awesome! And the singing part was amazing! It really got me excited about the film! Martin Freeman looks great as a hobbit! (Freeman is a great actor) What more can you want from a trailer? Well, I didn't get to see or hear Smaug (the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch), but as far as I know his part has not been shot yet.
So looking forward to The Hobbit!

December 22, 2011 at 6:39AM EST Reply to CommentThey sing in the book...they play instruments in the book. Heck, Thorin plays a harp in the book. The singing is very fitting. Tolkien wrote many songs from the books. Hell, even the orcs sang in the books. And if you have read the book, you'll know that the singing is verbatim. The singing is very Peter Jackson, and it works here. Don't focus on the singing itself, but what it represents to the story.
