10. Fox's two "big bets" of the season aren't huge successes, but they're also far from being failures
While ratings for both "The X Factor" and "Terra Nova" - Fox's two biggest bets this fall - clearly weren't as big as the network had hoped, neither of the heavily-hyped freshman series can rightly be called failures, either. In fact, both shows managed to hold onto a huge percentage of their premiere audiences, with "Terra Nova" boasting an incredibly good second week hold in its second episode last night - particularly in the key 18-49 demo. If both shows can continue to post solid numbers for Fox in the network's always-rough pre-"Idol" fall season, they can surely count the pair of them as successful gambles.
