Why: As one of DC Comics' trinity characters the question is why has it taken so long for her to get to the big screen? A movie was in development at Warner Bros. for over a decade, but the studios focus on Superman and Batman kept getting in the way. WB's TV division and NBC received massive fan backlash to an unseen pilot two years ago which certainly didn't help.  WB is now focused on "Man of Steel" and then a "Justice League" movie, but if there was ever any time to launch the Amazing Amazon it's now. For the first time in decades, the Wonder Woman comic-book is one of DC's best sellers. This is thanks creators Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang who have focused on making Diana a true blood and guts warrior and a more modern interpretation of the greek gods. Like "Batwoman" it's fresh, current and a movie adaptation based on this recent work would surprise critics. Let's just say this, if WB doesn't spin-off "Wonder Woman" after "Justice League" our heroine may never get her shot at a solo movie.
