Michael Stipe, Hanson, Widespread Panic perform for Japan relief
It came together pretty quickly, but Hanson was able to pull some pretty big names in for SXSW4Japan, a fundraiser to help the earthquake- and tsunami-ravaged country. Michael Stipe of R.E.M., John "JoJo" Hermann of Widespread Panic, North Mississippi Allstars, the Hanson brothers, Ben Folds and more for the Livestream telethon, which went for a total of 12 hours. The goal was to raise $100,000 and that amount was succeeded. We hear Boxer Rebellion and Locksley were particularly good.
