'X-Men's' Patrick Stewart says he'll play Professor X again
Will Patrick Stewart play Professor Xavier once again?
Stewart played the wheelchair-bound telekinetic in the three X-Men films, while James McAvoy played a younger, more able-bodied Xavier in 2011's prequel "X-Men: First Class."
With the announcement a few months ago that the "First Class" follow-up would carry the subtitle "Days of Future Past," fans assumed that it will be based on the time-disrupting comic book story line in which X-Men from multiple timeframes to interact
Stewart discussed the upcoming film at the Montreal Film Festival. According to Newsarama, the thespian answered a fan's question with, “I think there is every possibility," before listing off the names of his "X-Men" co-stars and adding, "Yes, I'll be reprising..."
Does this mean that Hugh Jackman (who had a cameo in "First Class"), Ian McKellan Halle Berry, Rebecca Romijn, Famke Janssen and the rest of the elder X-Men will meet the younger "Class," including McAvoy, ichael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence? Keep your fingers (or claws) crossed.
Previously known for the long-running "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Stewart has mostly concentrated on voiceover work lately, including acting as the narrator in "Ted." He will soon be seen in "Hunting Elephants."
