No, the screenwriters of his films have a way of authoring the movies he directs. Does he bring a certain sensibility to them in the way he chooses to film them? (Or better said, the way he collaborates with his crew of talented individuals to bring a certain sensibility to the way they are filmed.) Maybe. But he is not the "author" in any way.
