'Rubicon' gets off to a promising start for AMC
AMC's Sunday, Aug. 1 premiere of "Rubicon" became the network's highest rated and most-watched original series premiere ever.
The first episode of the new conspiracy thriller averaged two million total viewers, leading into the season's second episode of "Mad Men," which drew 2.5 million viewers.
"With last night's premiere of 'Rubicon,' AMC is now three for three with our original series," states Charlie Collier, President and General Manager of AMC. "Rubicon's the newest jewel in the AMC crown which includes our hit series 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad.'"
The first hour of "Rubicon" had already been made available in multiple on-air sneak peeks, as well as on VOD, iTunes and Hulu. AMC estimates the sneaks generated 4.6 million views.
