Katie Cassidy takes The CW's 'Arrow' female lead
CW favorite Katie Cassidy has landed the female lead in the netlet's "Green Arrow" pilot.
Based on the DC Comics character, who previously appeared in a different incarnation on "Smallville," "Arrow" focuses on archery loving Oliver Queen, who moonlights as the vigilante Green Arrow. According to Deadline.com, Cassidy will play Laurel, an attorney with a romantic past with Queen, who may or may not be Black Canary in this incarnation.
The "Arrow" pilot also added Susanna Thompson and Willa Holland this week.
In addition to features like the "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake, Cassidy's TV credits include "Melrose Place," "Gossip Girl" and "Supernatural" for The CW, as well as "Harper's Island" for CBS.
