With Simon Cowell looking to fill a pair of judging positions on "The X Factor," it's the time of year to start spreading rumors.
According to HollywoodReporter.com
, Janet Jackson has "expressed interest" in joining "The X Factor" as a judge and mentor. The trade says that talks between Jackson and "X Factor" are "in the preliminary stages."
Last spring, Simon Cowell had talks "in the preliminary stages" with possibly dozens of judges before choosing L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole. Cole was promptly replaced, very early in auditions, by Nicole Scherzinger, who was relieved of her duties at the end of the first season along with Abdul.
The trade also reports that Pink is one of Cowell's possible targets. And speculates that Katy Perry is a target. And it was just this weekend that THR was reporting Whitney Houston was a leading contender, posting an Exclusive story to that effect mere hours before the singer's tragic death.
