Will 'Transformers 4' feature an all-new cast?
When we first heard that Paramount and Hasbro were going ahead with another installment of their money-magnet "Transformers" franchise, fans were uncertain if the fourth film would continue the story of hapless human Sam (Shia LaBeouf), his rotating cast of beautiful girlfriends (Megan Fox was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in the third film) and his military best buds Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.
Now, according to Duhamel, the studio and director Michael Bay are wiping the slate clean and effectively re-booting the franchise with an all-new cast.
"I don't think anybody's doing it," the actor told E! Online. "I know Shia's not doing it. I don't think Tyrese or Rosie or anybody else is doing it."
There have been rumors that the fourth film would provide a change of pace by casting action star Jason Statham as the new protagonist, but we'll have to wait and see.
Whatever their plans are, the film is certainly happening. "Whenever these movies make that much money they're going to make as many as they can," Duhamel added. "[But] I haven't heard anything about it. They haven't called me."
"Transformers 4" is expected to crash into theater June 2014.
