Anne Heche signs a Universal TV producing deal
Fresh off the summertime failure of "Save Me," NBC is working hard to keep Anne Heche in the family.
One week after it was announced the Heche will guest-star on NBC's "The Michael J. Fox Show," Universal TV announced that Heche has signed a multi-year first-look producing deal with an acting component.
"Anne has proven, time and again, to be both a wonderfully gifted actor and a hard-working producer with fantastic taste. We’re looking forward to working together on all fronts," blurbed Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.
Under the deal, Heche would star in Universal Television programs that would air on NBC or offered to outside broadcast and cable networks.
Heche executive produced and starred in "Save Me," which earned some respectful reviews, but astoundingly low ratings on NBC this summer. Her other recent TV credits include "Hung" and "Men in Trees."
