NBC craves a Dane Cook sitcom
Sometimes these aren't only Stories You Might Have Missed. They can also be Stories You Might Have Tried To Ignore On Purpose.
Case in point: NBC has signed Dane Cook to a development deal to produce and star in a half-hour comedy project targeted for next fall, according to Deadline.com.
The alleged joke-stealing comic and "Hawaii Five-0" guest star is part of NBC's somewhat retro push to build comedies around successful stand-ups. "Whitney" had a strong premiere for NBC last week, while the network signed Sarah Silverman to a high profile development deal earlier this year.
Cook's last regular or recurring TV role was on the ABC classic "Maybe This Time." He was most recently seen playing alleged joke-stealing comic Dane Cook on FX's "Louie."
