Will Noomi Rapace's English block her casting in the 'Alien' prequel?
Ripley will not be appearing in Ridley Scott's new "Alien" prequel, but a heroine like her will. The question is just who will play her?
Scott has made no secret of his adoration for Swedish actress Noomi Rapace who made waves stateside with her turn as Lisbeth Salander in the original "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" has put her on Hollywood's radar. In fact, she'll soon be appearing as the female love interest in "Sherlock Holmes 2." And while 20th Century Fox and Scott are meeting with actresses, they are floating an excuse that Salander's English might not be up to par for the role. That didn't seem to be an issue for Warner Bros. with "Holmes 2," but perhaps Rapace has regressed in the weeks since she was cast.
If that's the case, Fox is reportedly also looking at Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish, Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde.
