Few TV shows generate as much buzz as HBO's "Game of Thrones" and this week's hot rumor had fans in a tizzy.
According to exhaustive "GoT" site Winter-Is.Coming.net
, HBO is planning to order the third and fourth "Game of Thrones" seasons simultaneously and produce them back-to-back starting next year. The reports seem to stem from the show's production crew in Northern Ireland.
While the news is unsubstantiated, it's also entirely logical. The show's second season will premiere next April on HBO and it's already been discussed that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss feel (correctly) that George R.R. Martin's "A Storm of Swords" is too dense to be contained in a single season. Under those circumstances, it would be strange (and financially unsound) for HBO to order and produce the "Storm of Swords" seasons separately.
Stay tuned for any follow-ups to this rumor.
