Yes, that's Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln
Oscar-magnet Daniel Day-Lewis has always had a reputation for disappearing into the larger-than-life characters he's played in such films as "My Left Foot," "The Last of the Mohicans," "Gangs of New York" and "There Will Be Blood." Now, the actor is transforming into the 16th president of the United States for Steven Spielberg's long-in-the works upcoming biopic "Lincoln."
Even in the non-pro photo, Day-Lewis looks to be the spitting image of the Civil War-era Commander in Chief from Illinois (well, maybe a touch more handsome). The photo was snapped by restaurant patron Michael Phillips as DDL dined while on location in Richmond, VA.
Liam Neeson was long attached to play Honest Abe (it would have been his first film with Spielberg since "Schindler's List"), but eventually dropped out and was replaced by Day-Lewis.
"Lincoln" also stars Sally Field, John Hawkes, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jared Harris and Tommy Lee Jones. It is expected to hit theaters late 2012.
