Mumford and Sons are not breaking up
Mumford and Sons have been on hiatus since late last year — after touring for their sophomore album, “Babel” — but recent comments by banjo player Winston Marshall led to rumors that the band had called it quits.
At a party following the screening of The National’s documentary “Mistaken for Strangers,” Marshall told Vulture: “I wish I had something to say about Mumford & Sons. It was a good time. It’s over.”
A publicist for the band confirmed to Consequence of Sound this week that Marshall was joking and the break is simply a hiatus, not a breakup.
