Alan Taylor says 'Thor: The Dark World' reshoots will add more Loki
Loki fans now have another reason to be excited for the upcoming Marvel sequel "Thor: The Dark World."
According to the film's director, extra scenes have recently been shot which include actor Tom Hiddleston as the mischievous villain.
HitFix caught up with "Thor" director Alan Taylor at Disney's D23 expo last weekend, where he discussed the sequel's recent high-profile additional shooting.
"The Marvel process is very much like this," Taylor said. "They will keep adding things and keep improving things until the film is pried from their hands and put up on the screen."
Taylor specifically mentioned that he shot some additional scenes with fan-favorite Loki, after Hiddleston received a huge welcome from fans at both Comic-Con.
"Part of it seeing how well he (Hiddleston) played in the movie and seeing this wave of response from the audience, and this appetite they have for him. So it's hard not to give them more," Taylor revealed. "We shot a few things that weren't in the original version of the movie just to give us some more Loki time."
It may be fans' last chance for a while to catch the villain in the act, as Hiddleston has recently stated that Loki won't appear in 2015's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron."
"Thor: The Dark World" will be released in the U.S. November 8.
