'Glee' is probably ending after next season, unless it isn't
First off: "Glee" is ending after next season. You can count on it.
However, "Glee" is not officially ending after next season.
That appeared to be this week's bottom line.
Less than a week after the musical dramedy's tribute to the late Cory Monteith delivered the best "Glee" numbers in a year, Ryan Murphy said at a Paley Center event that he has tailored the show's last scene to be in Monteith's honor.
"The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story," Murphy said of the show's original plan, also giving an end-date that nobody has officially said.
However, studio and network sources tell E! that nothing is actually official regarding the ending of "Glee."
However, again, if you look at ratings for the "Glee" episodes leading up to "The Quarterback," it's hard to imagine FOX wanting to stick with the show beyond the already-surprising two-year renewal last spring.
Stay tuned for anything official.
