Ed Harris will play John McCain for HBO
Four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris will don a lot of old age makeup to play 2008's version of John McCain in HBO's "Game Change."
From the team that brought HBO the Emmy-winning "Recount," "Game Change" is based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's bestseller, focusing on John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, specially the period from McCain's selection of Palin as his running mate to the ticket's November loss.
Julianne Moore was previously tapped to play Palin in the telefilm, which will be directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong.
Most recently seen by a few people in "The Way Back" and "Appaloosa," Harris has a history with HBO, having starred in the network's miniseries adaptation of "Empire Falls," earning an Emmy nomination for the project.
