Lil Wayne breaks iTunes sales record with 'IV'
It was just last month that Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch the Throne" broke the record for most album sales from iTunes in a single week. Now the high-water mark has been moved again, by another rapper.
Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" -- released last Sunday (Aug. 28) -- moved more than 300,000 copies within its first four days of sales, says Billboard. The final figures will be in at week's end, the tally kept from Monday to Sunday.
"Watch the Throne" was sold exculsively via iTunes for its first four days of sales, and moved 290,000 through the digital retailer for the whole week, even after it went to traditional retail.
