BBC America renews 'Atlantis'
This is kinda the TV inverse of "You can't fire me, I quite."
BBC America announced this week that it has renewed the mythology-bending drama "Atlantis," just days after the drama premiered. That was good news for "Atlantis," but it wasn't especially exciting news for "Atlantis," since it was already renewed by BBC One back in October.
All this means is that the second season of "Atlantis" will, as expected, air on BBC America and that BBC America will continue to co-produce.
"'Atlantis' is off to a fantastic start and is the centerpiece of our Saturday nights for the next twelve weeks," blurbs BBC America SVP of Programming Richard De Croce. "We’re committed to bringing our viewers even more entertaining episodes inspired by Greek mythology from Howard [Overman] and the talented team in season two"
The November 23 "Atlantis" premiere was boosted by "Doctor Who" to 838,000 total viewers, the highest rated series premiere ever for BBC America's Supernatural Saturday.
