Christoph Waltz may play the villain in 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5'
Captain Jack Sparrow will face a new baddie in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," and it could be a two-time Oscar winner.
Christoph Waltz is rumored to be circling the sequel's role of Captain Brand, a villainous ghost looking to get revenger on Sparrow for a past transgression, according to The Daily Mail.
Johnny Depp will again be playing Jack Sparrow, while Keith Richards is also returning as Sparrow's pirate papa. Rebecca Hall ("The Town") is rumored to be playing Carina Smyth, the estranged daughter of Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush).
The fifth film in the billion dollar Disney franchise is being written by Jeff Nathanson ("Men in Black 3," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull") and will be directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg ("Kon-Tiki‘).
"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is aiming for a 2016 release.
