Plus: Will Smith may ditch 'Men in Black 3,' 'The Hills' are no more, Prince may be in financial trouble and more
Is Prince in financial trouble?
Prince may be rock royalty, but his kingdom isn't immune to financial troubles.
The state of Minnesota has released the status of its tax delinquents, and the Purple One was among them, apparently owing around $450,000 in back taxes between more than a dozen properties. He has a April 21 deadline before more penalties.
On top of that, a Dublin judge has ordered Prince to pay $2.95 million to Irish concert promoters Friday for canceling a 2008 concert at the last minute, according to the Associated Press. The court said total damages were being made public because the "Purple Rain" star has yet to pay anything to Dublin promoters MCD Productions Ltd. in their confidential settlement reached Feb. 26. During last month's court hearing, William Morris agent Marc Geiger testified that he told Prince of the fury that the singer was causing MCD owners during a rare face-to-face meeting in Los Angeles last year. He quoted Prince as replying, "Tell the cat to chill. We will work something out."
God bless that man.
Meanwhile, if Prince is have trouble paying the bills, he should just go on the road, which would be the silver lining.
