Will Smith may pass on 'Men In Black 3'

Will Smith hasn't appeared onscreen since 2008's "Seven Pounds" and Sony Pictures, where his Overbrook Entertainment company is housed, really wants him in a fan friendly film as soon as possible.  With "Spider-Man 4" delayed a year, Sony would love for Smith to reunite with Tommy Lee Jones in "Men in Black 3."  Unfortunately, the box office superstar may spite them for another picture.

Instead of dawning the dark shades once more, Variety reports that Smith is intrigued by a new project, 20th Century Fox's "The City That Sailed."  Written by Andrew Niccol (best know for "Gattica"), the film would find Smith playing a New York City street magician who is separated from his daughter when she moves to London.  The young girl ends up finding some magic candles that grant you your heart's desire.  The next thing everyone knows, Manhattan is sailing across the Atlantic towards London.

Sony Pictures also has "Hancock 2" in development for Smith, but with director Peter Berg busy with "Battleship," "MIB 3" is the only picture seemingly ready to go.  Our guess?  Smith jumps for "Sailed" and "MIB 3" becomes a pipe dream that never comes to fruition.
