Jewel's next big paycheck will come in from TV, as the crossover star has been tapped in to play June Carter Cash in a Lifetime biopic.

Deadline reports that the singer-songwriter-turned-dance-star-turned-country-and-childrens-albums-singer will lead alongside Johnny Cash -- to be played by "American Horror Story's" Matt Ross -- in the film, directed by Alison Anders ("Southland," "Sex in the City," "Four Rooms").

"The June Carter Cash Story" is based on the memoir "Anchored In Love: An Intimate Portrait Of June Carter Cash" by the late singer's son John Carter Cash. It will be shot in Atlanta this summer for premiere later this year.

Jewel -- aka Jewel Kilcher -- has appeared on television many times, mostly in roles as herself. She last released album "Sweet and Wild" in 2010.
