Courtney Love loses rights to Kurt Cobain's image to daughter
Kurt Cobain's image is no longer in the hands of his widow Courtney Love.
It turns out that the couple's daughter Francis Bean Cobain -- now 19 -- wrestled away the rights (including the former Nirvana frontman's name, likeness, and appearance) from Love in 2010, according to The Fix. The documents say that Love agreed to stand aside as the acting manager of End of Music LLC.
Love remains a member of the LLC, but no longer has any legal say as to how Cobain's image is used in the public sphere (including TV, movies, video games, etc).
Francis Cobain had gotten a restraining order against Love in 2009, citing the latter's increasing substance abuse problems.
More recently, Love made some unsavory accusations about former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl's behavior toward the younger Cobain, but later apologized.
