FOX uses 'American Idol' repeat to remember Michael Jackson
The TV networks responded swiftly to Michael Jackson's shocking death on Thursday (June 25).
ABC scheduled an immediate primetime special. NBC scheduled an immediate primetime special. CBS scheduled an immediately primetime special.
And FOX announced plans to reair the Tuesday, March 10 episode of "American Idol" on Monday, June 29.
That "American Idol" episode, the start of the "Idol" season's Top 13, was themed around the music of Michael Jackson. That means viewers will be able to relieve Danny Gokey's acclaimed performance of "P.Y.T" and Adam Lambert's rendition of "Black & White." The attempted tribute, though, will also include much-maligned performances of "Beat It" by Anoop Desai and "Rockin' Robin" by Megan Joy.
