Michael Ausiello first reported that Heigl will be taking a five-episode hiatus from ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" in order to go shoot "Life As We Know It," a romantic comedy directed by Greg Berlanti. The hiatus will begin later this month.

That means that Izzie will be vanishing for an extended period of time, probably starting right around November sweeps, which may also be the same time as Ellen Pompeo's maternity leave. Uh-oh.
