Will 'Thor 2' face the One Direction 3D movie in theaters?
Here's some good news if you're a Marvel fan -- "Thor 2" has been moved up one week.
It's bad news, however, if you're a member of One Direction.
Disney and Marvel have re-located the "Thor" sequel from November 15 to November 8, 2013 -- the same day that Sony's 3D concert film featuring the trending U.K. boy band is scheduled to open.
With good reason to be intimidated by Thor's potential drawing power after the jaw-dropping success of "The Avengers" -- more than $1 billion worldwide and counting -- Sony may consider moving the One Direction film to another date (possibly earlier in order to avoid the traditional Thanksgiving gridlock).
"Thor 2" will star returning cast members Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba and will feature newcomer Mads Mikkelsen ("Clash of the Titans") as an as-yet-unnamed villain (but not Thanos, apparently).
