Shia LaBeouf to direct "visual elements" of Marilyn Manson's new album
Fresh off a big start of the new "Transformers" movie at the box office, star Shia LaBeouf is working on his directing chops in a move that may surprise many: collaborating with Marilyn Manson.
The actor said on " Live With Regis And Kelly " that he'd already met up with the industrial rocker at his L.A. apartment to go over concepts for visual accompaniment to his next album. "He lives in West Hollywood above a liquor store," LaBeouf said of Manson, 42. "There's no lights in the room. And there's sort of these big metal doors and he opens the door and he's in a big pink kimono. It's sort of like a lair. No lights, so you have to use your cellphone to guide you around."
LaBeouf will be forming documentary footage around the making-of, the follow-up to 2009's "The High End of Low."
We sat and watched movies for a while and talked about what kind of visuals he wanted on his album, which are all really eccentric ideas." A post on Manson's newly relaunched website indicates an announcement is coming soon. So far he's only posted a 26-second
clip of new music.
LaBeouf previously directed Cage's "I Never Knew You" music video.
