"Survivor" host Jeff Probst is looking to expand his TV dominion to daytime.
According to The Hollywood Reporter
, Probst has signed a deal with CBS Television Distribution to develop a talk show to debut in the fall of 2012.
"Anyone who has seen Jeff on Survivor knows how he connects with people and has an instinct that makes him a natural and compelling host for daytime,” CBS president of programming and development Aaron Meyerson tells THR. “Whether it's a newsmaker-of-the-day, a celebrity or ordinary folks, Jeff will go further than typical discussion."
In addition to his Emmy-winning tenure as host of "Survivor," Probst has been a fill-in for Regis Philbin on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and for Larry King on "Larry King Live."
Probst is signed on for the next two seasons of "Survivor" and the trade story says his daytime show wouldn't impact his "Survivor" hosting duties.
