Tickets for LCD Soundsystem's final show went up for general sale on Friday morning -- and sold out within what seemed like milliseconds. Believe us, we know.
Some sites are estimating Madison Square Garden sold out in two-and-a-half minutes... and the band suspects the work of scalpers, considering the exorbitant price tag some tickets (a la $2,000) are
already fetching on second-hand sites like StubHub.
"Ok... did ANYone get a ticket? shit. please tell me?" then, "seriously--NO ONE? NO ONE on here?" the group wrote today on Twitter
"1500 [dollars] for a single ticket? Fuck you, scalpers. You are parasites. I HATE you," wrote James Murphy and Co. after a similar fate occurred during Pitchfork's special pre-sale on Wednesday. Later:
"NO MATTER WHAT WE DO, IT IS NOT WORTH THAT KIND OF MONEY TO SEE US!"
They do seem positive that they can... do something about the problem?
"folks: maybe don't buy ANY resell tickets for at least 48 hours? give me/us that much time to try to figure something out. #workingonit"
