Katie Cassidy and Angela Bassett have very little in common. But the two actresses will both star in ABC pilots this spring.
"Nightmare on Elm Street," "Gossip Girl" and "Melrose Place" veteran Cassidy will star in ABC's increasingly pretty "Georgetown,"
a sexy soap focusing on young folks working in Washington. James Wolk and Daisy Betts are also featured in the pilot from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's Fake Empire.
Bassett, meanwhile, will topline "Identity,"
playing a special agent in charge of the FBI's Identity Crimes Division. Based on a British format, the pilot was written by John Glenn. No. Not the astronaut.
This is actually the second ABC pilot that Bassett has been linked to this year, following "One Police Plaza." The Oscar nominated "What's Love Got To Do With It" actress will next be seen in "Green Lantern."
