Possible 'X Factor' judges include Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey
Simon Cowell has decided to start teasing potential judges for the American installment of "X Factor."
According to Access Hollywood, which chatted with the former "American Idol" judge, George Michael, Nicol Scherzinger, Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul are among those who have been involved in at least some stage of discussions for the FOX gig.
It appears that different people are at different stages, though. While Adbul is part of "a smaller group," Carey is just somebody Cowell has "spoken to."
Cowell suggested that at least some level of conversation had been had with "lots of people," making it completely possible that none of these short-list names may be a part of the panel when it's officially revealed.
Two people who aren't on the short list, or any list, for the FOX fall premiere are Katy Perry and Elton John.
Auditions for "X Factor," which features a $5 million top prize, will begin later this month, so presumably an announcement can't be too far away.
