David Mamet will remake 'Have Gun - Will Travel' for CBS
"Have Gun - Will Travel" may travel into a new millennium.
According to Deadline.com, Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet has signed on to remake the classic CBS Western, writing a script and, potentially, directing the pilot.
"Have Gun - Will Travel" ran on CBS from 1957-1963. Created by Sam Rolfe and Herb Meadow, the series starred Richard Boone as Paladin, a post-Civil War gunslinger who dispensed justice, for a price.
CBS' "The Unit" remains Mamet's only credit as a TV series creator, though he's written telefilms including "Texan" and "Lansky," and he wrote and directed an upcoming Phil Spector biopic for HBO.
