'Star Wars' rumors continue
The deluge of "Star Wars"-related news and rumors continues to pour in unabated.
The latest tidbits involve the already announced writers Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg, as well as more scuttlebutt about who will direct the first film in the upcoming trilogy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kasdan -- who penned "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" -- and Kinberg ("X-Men: First Class") may not be writing the official Skywalker sequel trilogy after all, but instead may be focusing on spin-off films. The "Star Wars" universe is certainly big enough for a countless number of cinematic variations.
Meanwhile, at the U.K. premiere for "Seven Psychopaths," actor Jason Flemyng may have given away a close-guarded secret when he hinted to Hey U Guys that his frequent collaborator Matthew Vaughn ("Kick-Ass," "X-Men: First Class") will direct "Star Wars: Episode VII." You can watch the Flemyng video on the left.
However, until Disney makes an announcement, we can't be sure if Flemyng was indeed revealing something new or just echoing persistent Internet rumors, which also keep suggesting other directors like Jon Favreau and David Fincher for the gig.
Stay tuned, you rebel scum.
