Billy Campbell won't be back if 'The Killing' returns
On "The Killing," Darren Richmond survived an assassination attempt and made a successful run for mayor, but it looks like he won't be able to make it to a third season.
According to Variety, if/when AMC and possibly Netflix officially make the deal to resurrect "The Killing," Billy Campbell won't be returning to the series.
As of now, of course, nobody is returning to the series. AMC cancelled "The Killing" in May and although there have been months of speculation and writers Veena Sud, Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are working on an outline for the third season, nobody's actually signed an official deal to make anything happen.
In fact, there may be even less urgency for AMC to make the deal after successfully finding a new showrunner for "Hell on Wheels," re-renewing the Western drama.
It's expected that Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman will be back for the hypothetical third season.
