Gillian Anderson returns to network TV for 'Hannibal' run
While she hasn't exactly been missing from the small screen since "The X Files," Gillian Anderson is ready to make her return to network TV for an multi-episode arc on NBC's "Hannibal."
According to EW.com, Anderson will play Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, therapist to a certain Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). The "Red Dragon" prequel series comes from Bryan Fuller and features Hugh Dancy as profiler Will Graham.
NBC has yet to settle on a premiere date for the series.
An Emmy winner (and four-time Emmy nominee) for "The X Files," Anderson has been a staple of upper-crust longform TV projects in recent years, with credits including "Bleak House," "Great Expectations," "Moby Dick" and "The Crimson Petal and the White."
