Destroying the Vulcan race, a hell of a lot of Starfleet and any narrative flow that anyone mentally older than 14 could appreciate isn't dark enough for them?
Oh -- they must mean they're getting rid on the lens flares. Good on them.

Continuity, "the fans", story, effects, other buzzwords geeks will like. Wrath of Khan.

August 29, 2010 at 3:59PM EST Reply to CommentI saw the movie with a 12-year-old, 32-year-old and 65-year-old, none of which had any issues with the narrative flow. But hey, to each their own.
He clarified this beyond the blurb here, and made it clear he didn't mean 'dark', only that TDK stepped up the storyline several notches over BB, and that they wanted that for Trek 2. Keep in mind, Lindelof had next-to-nothing to do with ST09, so he's bound to have a different viewpoint from the original writers.
