Roger Waters pastes over Elliott Smith's wall with his own
Roger Waters was in hot water earlier this week when he, according to some, defaced a wall of art memorializing late songwriter Elliott Smith in Los Angeles.
Located in Silverlake, the wall typically boasts graffiti messages and artworks to the Grammy-nominated Smith. Waters' street team pasted up a "viral" advertisement (an Eisenhower quote) over part of the site for -- get this -- the Pink Floyd founders' forthcoming "The Wall" tour.
Waters later apologized, saying he didn't know the wall was precious to Smith fans, frankly, because he was unfamiliar with who Smith was.
